A 100 million year old sea monster fossil discovered in Australia
During a road repair in China, an Australian farmer discovered the huge fossil remains of a sea monster that lived over 100 million years ago.
Farmer Rober t Hacon discovered the gigantic fossilized mandible of an extinct carnivorous sea reptile known as ‘Kronosaurus queenslandicus’.
Hacon recalled while he was tending his land in Queenslandia and poisoning the pricly Acacia, he noticed some objects shinning in distance.
He thought they were just fossilized mussel shells so he did not bother to inspect them. However in his curiosity he turned back,
1.6 meters of fossilized jawbone of Kronosaurus was the object he saw. According to Dr. Timothy Holland, it was the complete mandible of the extinct sea creature ever found.
What’s shocking was it was not even an adult when it died! Because the fully grown adult jaw measures 2.6 meters.
The fossil discovery is now displayed at the Kronosaurus Korner Museum.
