A large number of dead toads are seen on the ground and near the reproduction area as if their bodies bursts. The locals are at panic because of the unusual scenario that they had witnessed.

I found some of them right here already, just parts of them. A leg here, a head there or a belly... all the guts came out, they really have bursts!

Local conservationists, Werner Smolnik investigated the mysterious scenario. He searched on the waters to check if there are contaminants that may cause the poison.

He also checked the local race tracks that may lead to some clues on why the amphibians tear themselves into pieces.

One of the possible cause is the "deadly skin fungus" that can affect many animals around the world. These toad breathes into their skins and these fungus slowly suffocates them.
