Caught on camera a horrifying moment when the slingshot ride’s cable snaps!

Who doesn’t love going to the amusement parks and try all their cool and scary rides. But a terrifying moment was caught on cam when you are riding a catapult and then the cable snapped right just before the ride launches. It will surely leave you speechless.

A heart-stopping moment for two riders who rode the “The Catapult” at Mt. Olympus in Wisconsin Dell when the bungee cable snapped smashed into the floor right before they were about to be launched into the air.

A 13-year-old and a family friend were riding the side ride in Mt. Olympus and the kids’ dad was filming them, when he caught that terrifying accident.

“I just wanted to capture the moment. Thank goodness the guy standing behind them didn’t pull the lever to let them go. He was right there,” said Dru Larson father of the teen.

Bystanders, including Trevor’s who is recording the footage, was shocked in horror.

"If they would have launched us and broke on the way back down, it could have killed us both,” said Trevor Larson

“I was numb," Trevor's mother Nicole told CBS. "You saw this cable and this metal piece coming at your son. And it was so fast. And you were expecting him to go in the air and all of a sudden everything was coming back at you."

"There's a lot of what if," family friend Carrie Sueker, who was on the ride with Trevor. "It could have hit us, could have hit our friends and family that were nearby."

After the accident, the operators offered the family their money back and tokens for other different rides.

The “The Catapult” is one of the attractions of Mt. Olympus theme park. And it was closed for investigations.

Nick Laskarias, owner said that this tyoe of incident has never happened before at the theme park.

“It's unfortunate. Mechanical failures unfortunately do happen,” he said.

According to some reports, Casco Inc. who owns the ride has not yet responded to any requests for comments.
