People in India are swallowing live fish to cure Asthma! Unbelievable!

People who have asthma uses inhalers or nebulizer to stop or prevent it. But there are people in India who have other ways to cure Asthma and it's unbelievable.

Every year thousands of people travels all over from India to attend a special session in Hyberabad, India. The treatment for Asthma that was found by the Bathini family involves swallowing of small live fish filled with special yellow coloured herbal paste that was made by the family.

Although there has never been a scientific study about the said treatment, there are still people who keeps on attending the said event to help cure their asthma.

But the Bathini family claims that they can cure this common chronic inflammatory disease by using their home-made ancestral remedy called 'Fish Prasadam'. And they insists that their medicine is effective.

"This is scientific. People have taken our samples to labs in Japan, Germany and got them tested. The concept is that when live fish moves, wagging its tail and fins through the throat, it clears all congestion. Thus, providing cure to asthma," said Harinath Goud, one of the elders of the family

After digesting the treatment, patients are told to go on a strict diet for 45 days

The herbal paste is inserted in the mouth of a live three centimetre-long murrel fish and then slipped through the throat of the patient, who swallows it alive.

The Bathini family would not reveal the secret formula which they claim was received from a Hindu saint in 1845. They has been serving the magical medicine for like 160 years already. And they said that of the fish is taken three consecutive years, patients can be asthma-free for life.

Patients employ various methods to get the fish down

Even though the event was being visited by many people, rights groups and doctors are complaining that the said treatment is 'unscientific', and according to them its a violation of human rights and it's unhygienic. But the Bathini family rejected their claims.
