Even the doctors were baffled about this boy's condition

A strange condition that even doctors can’t identify. There are some who suffer from physical deformities which caused them to look different from the rest and this 8-year-old Indian boy is one of them.

An 8-year-old boy from India, named Kaleem, is suffering from a mysterious condition.

His hand weighs around 8 kilograms each and 13 inches in length each. Kaleem was born with this condition. From the moment he was born and her mother saw him, she knew that there was something wrong with him.

Kaleem hasn’t been brought to the hospital because of the family’s status in life. His father is working so hard to provide for their family but it’s not enough to bring Kaleem to a doctor.

He doesn’t go to school because other kids are scared of his hands.  His life is made even harder by cruel bullies who make fun of him.

"Many of them used to bully me for my deformity. They would say 'let's beat up the kid with the large hands. Some of them have actually beaten me and would go after me often,” said Kaleem.

Because of Kaleem’s condition, it gives him a hard time to do even the most basic things such as eating and drinking water.

"I find it difficult to put on my clothes, button my shirt and pull up my pants. But I don't know if I want doctors to operate on my hands. They would have to make me unconscious and then they would cut me open,” he said.

"I have no problem if they could do it without an injection. A small operation would be okay," he added.

Kaleem’s father, Shamim, 45-years-old, have been working so hard as a laborer but have struggled as they only earn £15 a month.

"When Kaleem was born his hand was twice the size of a normal baby's. His hands were big and his fingers were long. Initially his fists were small but they began to grow large as well and his fingers also kept growing," said Haleema, 27-years-old, Kaleem’s mother.

"He has difficulty feeding himself because his fist does not bend properly - so we have to feed him," said Shamim.

"We want to take him to the hospital but there have been times when money has been so low that my wife has been forced to go begging.

"In that kind of financial situation, getting treatment for Kaleem was difficult.

"Even when I tried to get Kaleem into the school, the headmaster told me to put in writing that the school would not be responsible if the other children were afraid of his hands or bullied him or laughed at him," he added.

It gives him a hard time to do even the most basic things such as eating and drinking water. 

A doctor at a local hospital said the cause of the deformity was unknown but it could be either lymphangioma or hamartoma.

Apart from his giant hands, Kaleem is otherwise healthy although the increased pressure on his cardiovascular system could potentially shorten his life.

Now, Kaleem’s parents are asking for financial help so that they could bring their son to the doctor and could get the necessary medical attention he needs.
