Another Malaysian aircraft went missing!

After the tragic disappearance of MH370 another Malaysian air carrier went in limbo.

AirAsia, a Malaysian low-cost airline, lost contact with one of their aircraft which is bound for Singapore from Indonesia. Flight QZ8501 lost contact at  7:24am Surabaya time, 42 minutes after departure and an hour before it was scheduled to land in Singapore.

The company released a statements which include the manifesto of the 162 people on board. These consist of 138 adults, 16 children and one infant together with the seven crew members.

The plane was on the submitted flight plan route and flying at 32,000 feet, before it asked to fly at 38,000 feet to avoid clouds.

The captain in command had a total of 6,100 flying hours and the first officer a total of 2,275 flying hours, said AirAsia, adding that the Airbus A320 jet underwent its last scheduled maintenance on 16 November 2014. 

After the tragic disappearance, AirAsia changed their Facebook page from a holiday festive to all black. Even their logo has changed from bright red to gray.

Last March 2014, Malaysia Airline flight MH370 went missing on their outbound flight to Hong Kong and flight MH17 was shot down.
