Reinaldo Cardoso Rivera stabbed her friend Darwin Gonzalez for eating the last piece of chicken

Reinaldo Cardoso Rivera, 38-year-old, was accused of stabbing his roommate, Darwin Gonzalez, 34-year-old, over the last piece chicken.

Reinaldo was arrested Friday night at their apartment in Houston for killing Darwin.

According to reports, Reinaldo, Darwin and their three other friends were preparing dinner and drinking in the apartment at 1445 Lakeside Estate when Darwin grabbed the last piece chicken and ate it.

Reinaldo became very angry at Darwin and the two took the argument outside the apartment complex's parking lot, where in the verbal exchange turned into a physical battle which a lot of people witnessed it.

At around 11:30 pm, Reinaldo pulled a kitchen knife, stabbed Darwin right away and ran away.

"There was a single drumstick in the pan," said Detective Fil Waters of Houston Police Department Homicide. "You can't script this stuff. It's someone getting killed over a piece of chicken. Pretty tragic."

Reinaldo was taken into custody at around 4am and charged with murder in the fatal stabbing

Reinaldo was also injured because of the fight, fled right away at the scene. But at 4:00 am he returned to the apartment and confessed to the police officers, that he stabbed his roommate Darwin.

"It's a shame, it really is," said John McDonald a Houston resident. "I just felt that a human life taken over a piece of chicken is ridiculous."

Reinaldo and his friends were Cuban descent and not a citizen of the U.S.

He is now charged with murder and is currently held at the Harris County Jail and has a bond of $200,000.
