The towering bridge in Agas-Agas, Southern Leyte, which is considered as the tallest bridge in the Philippines might not be the highest bridge in the country. This is due to the soil erosion where the foundation of the bridge is mounted according to the national highway development authority. 

It scrapes away 10 meters of soil during the erosion and the Department of Public Works and Highway needs four million pesos to rehabilitate the said bridge. They also confirm if they have finished the repair works, there is a possibility that the bridge might be destroyed because of heavy rains in the area.
