In Jacksonville, Florida a couple decided to spend what's left of their lives together. Debbie Rivera, 54 and John Whaley, 58, exchanged their vows in front of their family and friends at their hospice care facility.

They are both suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Whaley met Rivera when he was admitted at Governors Creek Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Whaley decided to propose to Rivera despite being both terminally ill. He was so thrilled when she agreed to spend the rest of her life with him.

The general managed of Vitas Healthcare, Philip Slotin, assisted in setting up the wedding day for Whaley and Rivera.

It was May 23 when the ceremony took place. The lovely bride wore a traditional white bridal gown. She was escorted by her son Scott under a gazebo where she exchanged vows with Whaley.
