Little turtles inside a keychain

Turtles are one of the low maintenance pet that you can have at home. They are very exotic and children love to play with them because they are slow moving and they can hold them as well.

However, in some countries, there are some turtles are not allowed to be raise in captivity. In the Philippines, most of the sea turtles are not allowed to be captured and keep as a domesticated animal. People are not allowed to keep the hatchling in their homes.

In most part of the country, they gather all the eggs and hatchling and try to release it in the ocean then the right time comes. According to statistics around 10% of the hatchlings will survive the extreme aquatic environment.

On the other hand, in China, instead of letting the little turtles in the ocean, they keep it as a personal accessory. They place the live turtles in a small plastic bag and put some colored water which acts as an additional decoration. The plastic bag is sealed and a ribbon is place so that you can put in on your bag, wallet, on your car keys or place it together with your house keys.

These poor little creatures are suffered by the hands of this vendor. At the moment, the substance that was added in the water is still unknown and can be toxic to the turtles.
