Doctors found extra tooth growing inside a Man's nose, causes nosebleed

Nosebleed is for the nose and a tooth is for the mouth, right? But the reason behind this man's mysterious nosebleed is completely shocking and really unbelievable!

According to some reports, a 22-year-old Saudi Arabian man experienced frequent nosebleed happening from once to twice a month.

The man was curious what was really happening to him, he decided to see a doctor.

And then they found something very strange – a tooth growing inside his nose!

Doctors found a white bony mass measuring half an inch (1cm) long growing in his nasal cavity.

Nasal endoscopy showed a white cylindrical bony mass 1 cm long arising from the floor of the nose, with no attachment to the nasal septum or the lateral wall of the nose. Examination of the right nasal cavity was unremarkable,
the doctors said.

Having extra teeth are actually pretty common but studies says that between 0.15 percent and 3.9 percent of people have more teeth that usual, but our nose is not a place where they usually grow.

After the doctor's findings, they consulted with a dentist, who concluded that the mass was actually an extra tooth that had somehow ended up growing in his nose.

We see several cases each year,
Dr. John Hellstein, a dentist and professor of oral pathology at the University of Iowa.

But for it to have erupted up and through the nasal floor — that's unusual.

According to Dr. Hellstein, it's not that unusual but the place where it grew was extremely rare, and that kind of condition is called hyperdontia.

In order to remove the tooth from his nose, they placed him under general anesthesia. And it went successful.

Three months later, the 22-year-old Saudi Arabian’s nose had healed and his nosebleed had already stopped.

It's an unusual case of an extra tooth - certainly, the most impressive intranasal photo I think I've ever seen of one. I've never seen the tooth actually in there,
said Dr. Hellstein.
