Maroon 5 Crashes Real Weddings in “Sugar” Video
“It’s December 6th, 2014. We’re going to drive across L.A. and hit every wedding we possibly can,” Levine says in Maroon 5’s new begging-to-be-viral video Sugar.
"We're gonna drive across LA and hit every wedding we possibly can." They filmed the video back in December, and for each stop, the band hid behind a white sheet. The band then came in from the back entrance and hid behind it, before they were revealed to stunned guests. Brides, grooms, and guests appear baffled as Maroon 5 helpers construct a small stage for the group.
The music video was filmed on December 6, 2014, and with the help of Wedding Crashers director David Dobkin, the band drove across Los Angeles and surprised different couples at their receptions.
"It was an out-of-body experience. I had no idea I would be affected by the overwhelming reactions we received from the couples and guests. Being able to create an unforgettable experience for several people was the highlight of it all." said Adam Levine about their video
According to the representative of Maroon 5, the grooms knew about the performance, saying, "However they disclosed it to their bride and the wedding party, we're not sure, but they all wanted it to be as equally a surprise as we did."
"Sugar" is the third single from Maroon 5's new album V.
