Hostage saved by ordering pizza
High on crystal meth, her boyfriend has been charged with aggravated assault and false imprisonment.
After writing a desperate plea for help on an online Pizza Hut Order, police were able to rescue a terrified mother being held hostage by her drugged up boyfriend.
Cheryl Treadyway, the hostage, was held against her will after her boyfriend Ethan Nickerson refuse to let her leave the house or use a phone.
However, Ethan allowed Cheryl to order some food. Cheryl convinced him to use her mobile. Using the Pizza Hut’s online app she ordered a pepperoni pizza then adds “Please help” “Get 911 to me. 911 hostage help!”
Staff at the Avon Park brach in Florida recognised Cheryl’s name as a regular and immediately called in police from the Highlands County Sheriff's Office who rescued her.
"We've never seen that before," restaurant manager Candy Hamilton said.
"I’ve been here 28 years and never, never seen nothing like that come through."
On arriving at the house Cheryl fled the home with a baby in her arms telling cops her boyfriend was armed with a knife.
Initially Nickerson, 25, refused to give himself in, saying he did not want to go jail
Officers however managed to talk him round after 20 minutes and he was taken into custody.
No one was harmed following the drama at 3.40pm on Monday.
He has previously been charged with battery, battery on law enforcement, damage to property, public intoxication, vehicle theft, DUI and forgery.
