Man ordered a chicken at KFC, but when he opened the box he was SHOCKED!
Everyone loves KFC, right? But after you read this you might change your mind about KFC.
A California man claims that last week he was served a deep fried rat in his chicken tenders at KFC, after ordering a three-piece chicken tender meal.
Security guard Devorise Dixon said that one of the three pieces of fried chicken he bought at an unspecified Los Angeles location tasted 'hard and rubbery'.
Dixon told the Randy Economy Show that upon further observation he noticed his chicken tender looked more like a deep fried rat than a succulent piece of poultry.
"It was very hard and rubbery which made me look at it. As I looked down at it I noticed that it was in a shape of a rat with a tail." Dixon said.
Though Dixon's first reaction was to seal the rat-chicken in a bag and put in his freezer, he went back to the same KFC two days later.
After returning to the original KFC restaurant where the tender meal was purchased with photos and receipt in hand, Dixon claims the manager was shocked, but apologetic.
“The manager actually freaked out, confirmed that it was a rat,” Dixon told the radio station. “She apologized for it. They actually just offered me a free meal.”
Dixon reportedly declined the free food and told the station that he has since hired a lawyer to represent him.
KFC responded to the incident, saying that they take customer claims very seriously and are investigating the incident.
“KFC takes customer claims very seriously, and we are continuing to investigate this matter. Our chicken tenders often vary in size and shape, and we currently have no evidence to support this claim. We are aggressively trying to reach Mr. Dixon, and we request that he return to the restaurant with the product for testing, or call us at 1-800-Call-KFC.”
KFC spokesman Rodrigo Coronel told that the chain has made several attempts to contact Dixon, but he has "refused to talk to us directly or through an attorney."
The chain has since offered Dixon the opportunity to submit the sample to an independent lab for evaluation free of charge, but Dixon refused to provide the rat shaped product in question.
KFC has not announced any charges against Dixon but they say they are 'considering all options'.
Since then, KFC has been answering customer questions about the rat-chicken on all of its social media pages, tweeting that their official investigation did not yield rat-positive results.
