Heart-warming moment between an orangutan and a pregnant woman at the zoo
What this orangutan did to a pregnant woman’s belly is so adorable!
37 weeks pregnant Maisie Knight and partner Jamie Clark went to Colchester Zoo for a visit.
While touring around the zoo, they meet an orangutan named Rajang, a 47-year-old ape.
Jamie was filming Maisie as she watches the orangutan.
"Rajang ignored me and just stared at Maisie, it seemed like he was intrigued by her and after a few seconds he pointed at her belly,” said Jamie. "I said to her to put her belly to the glass and Rajang started to softly rub the glass where her belly was pressed against it.
Rajang stares straight ahead at Maisie when she put his belly to the glass. The adorable orangutan moves forward to her and kissed his belly.
They laughed at the orangutan but when his husband, Jamie presses his belly against the glass, he got a dirty look from the orangutan that looks like he’s not amused by Jamie’s belly.
When Jamie placed his hand through the glass to block the belly of her wife, the adorable orangutan tries to push away his hand.
After that, Maisie placed her belly again on the glass and Rajang gives her baby bump a last goodbye kiss.
"Truly a special animal that has touched our hearts," Jamie Clarke wrote in the video description.
According to the zoo’s website about Rajang who was orphaned a month after his birth, "The reason why keepers and visitors adore Rajang so much is because he is very interactive and engages with visitors and keepers in ways which other individuals may not."
Rajang is a part Bornean and part Sumatran orangutan. He arrived at the Colchester zoo in 1980.
Jamie uploaded the heart-warming video on YouTube and it has been viewed for more than 72,000 times.
