Thirsty Leopard gets head stuck in metal water pot in India
A leopard experienced a life threatening situation after he went hunting for water in an Indian mining dump.
This particular leopard had just been strolling around a village of Sardul Kheda of Rajasthan’s Rajsamand district, possibly from a nearby sanctuary and looking for a drink of water.
Desperate for some more water, the leopard put its head deep inside a drinking pot and quickly got itself completely stuck. The poor animal must have been terrified when he realized he couldn't get his head back out.
For hours, he sat, confused and scared, while local residents gathered cautiously around him. The incident made the poor animal helpless and went viral at the same time. Locals in Rajasthan tried to help free the leopard as it sat stagnant and likely frozen.
Some were clearly concerned for his well-being, but some locals were cruelly laughing as the scared leopard stood in place, unable to see or move. Soon, masses of villagers took photo and record the incident in their phone.
The male leopard had been trapped for five to six hours before it was finally tranquilized and freed from the pot by forestry department workers. The rescue team has put it in a mobile cage and taken it to Udaipur.
District forest officer Kapil Chandrawal said the leopard was being kept safe in an enclosure.
"It has been brought to a safe place," said officer Kapil. "He is being kept under observation. He has been checked by vets and seems to be fine."
Mr Chandrawal said the leopard was about three to three-and-a-half years old.
"He will be released in the forest later," Sharma added.
This leopard isn't the only animal to need some help after involving up in a sticky situation. Animals often wind up stuck in our trash, so we always owe it to them to help out when we can.
Luckily, everything turned out OK for both the leopard and the towns' residents.

It is difficult to say where he came from because the Kumbhalgarh sanctuary is about 20 kilometers away.
