Watch as mother rabbit puts smackdown on baby-attacking snake!
An angry rabbit took revenge on a hungry snake after it killed one of her bunnies as an afternoon snack.
The feisty animal took out its anger on the reptile after discovering it had snaffled one of her offspring as an afternoon snack
In Fairfax, Virginia, a mother rabbit filmed confronting a snake that attacked her babies in a family's back yard struck a major victory for the underdog by fending off the serpent.
A video posted to YouTube by Ramakanth Peechara shows the mother rabbit return to her nest to find the predator, identified by experts as a nonvenomous black rat snake, attacking her young.
In the clip, the long black snake is first seen curled around the tiny baby as it prepares to gorge itself.
The mother rabbit unleashes the fury of a protective mother on the snake, kicking and biting the serpent as it attempts to flee the onslaught.
Children's voices can be heard rooting for the rabbit in the video.
"Go, Mr. Bunny! Kill that snake!" a child's voice says.
"Bite it! Bite it!" another child cheers.
But the reptile's lazy afternoon feast doesn't quite go to plan after the bunny's mother suddenly realises what has happened to her child.
Seconds after the video starts, the rabbit hops over to the snake before almost immediately beginning a frenzied attack - by scratching and kicking at the reptile with its paws.
Desperately, the snake attempts to slither away from impending danger, but the rabbit isn't about to give up without a fight.
It then chases the snake around the garden before finally sinking its teeth into the reptile's skin.
In the background, a child watching from the window can be heard cheering the rabbit on, shouting: "Go bunny, go! Get that snake! Bite that snake!"
Unfortunately, despite claims to the contrary on the video's description, it appeared the protective rabbit was too late to save its bunny.
The clip, which was uploaded by YouTube user 'Ramakanth p' on June 18, has already clocked up more than 1.8 million views.
