Imgur user, thechosenginger, has posted several shocking photos her friend documenting her allergic reaction to hair dye.
The photos she shared online has gone viral because of the horrifying reaction to her friend's face. She uploaded the selfies her friend took in the days after she applied hair dye to her scalp.
According to her, it wasn't a result of an at-home dye job, but either it was done by a professional stylist at a salon. And that they have already used that dye on her in the past, so they wasn't expecting that kind of allergic reaction.
The series of photos shows her friend's face changing shape and decompressing over the course of five days, coming almost back to normal by the end of it.

According to Allergy UK, there are many products containing certain chemicals that can trigger reactions and that hair dye allergies are not common.
Paraphenylenediamine (PPD) is found in permanent hair dyes, especially those at the darker end of the range. It has been known to sometimes cause reactions.
Those people who are allergic to PPD might experience symptoms like itchy skin, red skin rash, swollen eyes, lips, hands and feet; wheezing; tummy pain; nausea and vomiting; swelling of the mouth, throat or tongue, that can cause difficulty in breathing and swallowing.
