Teen sets WORLD RECORD for solving Rubik's cube in just 5 seconds! AMAZING!

Lucas Etter, 14-year-old, is now the title holder for the Fastest time to solve a Rubik's Cube and becoming the first person to break the 5 second record of solving a 3x3x3 Rubik’s Cube .

Lucas managed to solve the puzzle in just 4.904 seconds during an event at the River Hill High School in Clarksville, Maryland.

The said event was authorized by the World Cube Association. It was an organization recognized by Guinness World Records that organize and manage Rubik's Cube competition.

Lucas from Kentucky is the third person who tried to break the record. The first record was set by Collins Burns for solving the Rubik's Cube in 5.25 seconds. He was later beaten by Keaton Ellis who managed to finish solving the puzzle in 5.09 seconds.

Lucas also sets a new record just two month after for the fastest average time to solve a 2x2x2 Rubik's Cube, after finishing a time of 1.51 seconds at Woodmont Hills Church in Nashville, Tennessee, USA, back in September.

The unbelievable achievement of Lucas has been officially approved by the World Cube Association.

The world Rubik's cube championship takes place every two years. The first ever world record was set by Minh Thai in 1982, at 22.95 seconds.

The Guinness World Records' record for the most people solving Rubik's cubes simultaneously is 3,248 and was achieved by the College of Engineering Pune at the College of Engineering, Pune, Maharashtra, India, on 4 November 2012.

The Rubik's cube was invented in 1974 by Erno Rubik, a Hungarian architect, who wanted a working model to help explain three-dimensional geometry. Immediately after he invented it, it took Erno more than a month to solve his own puzzle
