Mariah Carey is engaged to her billionaire boyfriend James Packer. The 48-year-old businessman has a net worth of $3.7 billion, making him Australia's fourth richest man, according to Bloomberg. So it should come as no surprise that when Mariah hit the red carpet last night with her fiancé, she wouldn't be just going to rock any old engagement ring.
On a Thursday at Eleven Madison Park in New York City is where James Packer planned his special dinner for Mariah and their close friends. That was the moment where he proposed to Mariah with a a 35-carat diamond ring. Mariah's rock is reportedly 35 karats and cost 11.4 million dollars!
Wilfredo Rosado Mariah's friend, was the one who designed the jaw dropping ring.
According to Vougue, Wilfredo Rosado said he took the standards super high and he wanted to create a ring that could not be measured up to. He said they have the same taste and when it came down to it, he really wanted to create something for her that was about new beginnings but is epic. He quoted, "It’s an epic ring for an epic time in her life."
Mariah Carey told Steve Harvey how James Packer and her relationship began. She recalled the first time they met, which is in Aspen where they at the Hercules premiere. They were talking and laughing to the point that people are getting mad at us. She said that they hit it off instantly.
