Tech giant companies are now developing futuristic type of contact lenses that can actually record and playback videos.

Best known for their leading consumer gadgets and smartphones, Samsung reportedly filed a patent on 'smart contact lenses' which has the ability to project images straight into the user's eyes.

According  to the company, the lenses that they would develop will have a built in mini camera inside it. They believe that when their invention becomes a reality, people can snap pictures by just a blink of an eye which they can save to their smartphones or tablets.

On the other hand, Sony has also joined the race in developing digital contact lens technology. Their plan was to create a wearable lens that can not just take photos and videos but also stored date with out the need fora tether to a smartphone.

Sony's patent says that their lens would be able to record video, store it and play it back.

Joining the hunt, Internet giant Google was also reportedly working on the same devices. Recently, they tested a pair of smart contact lenses which has the ability to monitor glucose intent and hydration levels of those who has diabetes by just measuring the glucose level of their tears.
