There are animals who are intelligent enough to understand humans or other species who needed some form of assistance.
A comedic skit where a man pretended to be drowning was saved by a dolphin and was resuscitated by a sea lion! The result was hilarious because of the man’s exaggerated actions.
When he was revived he moved to the side of the dolphin to thank it for saving him then the sea lion moved to assert position as main lifesaver.
