Kris Unfollows Celeb Friends, gets back at Netizens for Condemning P-Noy

TV host Kris Aquino came to the defense of her brother, President Benigno Aquino III, following an out pour of criticisms with the way he handled the latest crisis which led to the death of the 44 elite members of PNP Special Action Force (SAF) dead after a costly encounter to hunt two “high value” terrorists in Mamasapano, Maguindanao.

In another comment posted by Kris on Instagram,
said she just can’t help but defend the people she loves.

Last Friday was declared the National Day of Mourning and became a display of wrath, too, as netizens looked for the head of state who chose to attend a plant inauguration in Laguna instead of attending the arrival honors for the fallen soldiers in Villamor Air Base a day prior. Unimpressed citizens came from various sectors and reached showbiz where the presidential sister is billed as the “Queen of All Media.”

By virtue of Proclamation No. 953, s. 2015, last Friday, January 30, 2015,
has been declared a National Day of Mourning. All public institutions and military installations,
were instructed to lower the Philippine flag to half-mast in honor of the members of the
Philippine National Police Special Action Force that fell during an armed encounter in
Maguindanao last Sunday, as well as a sign of solidarity with their families.

One in particular who was obviously dismayed by President Noynoy Aquino’s no-show at the arrival honors, was actress Judy Ann Santos who posted on Instagram last Friday a screenshot of a 2011 article in National Journal.com which was headlined: “Obama Cancels Schedule to Meet Returned Bodies of Fallen Troops”.

“Just saying… Obama knows his priorities…,” Juday said in the caption.

This apparently was disfavored by her ABS-CBN colleague, presidential sister Kris Aquino, who quickly unfollowed her on the photo sharing social media network.

Aside from Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo, Kris Aquino also unfollowed celebrity couple Regine Velasquez and Ogie Alcasid on Instagram. Regine Velasquez, called the president out for lack of empathy and grace towards the soldiers’ grieving families, prompting Kris to unfollow her and husband Ogie Alcasid on photo-sharing site Instagram.

A day after unfollowing the couple, Aquino apologized, “I personally communicated with @ogiealcasid today and apologized for misinterpreting some quotes tagged to me supposedly coming from them. I said nadala na ko ng sobrang sakit. And I extended my sorry to my idol @reginevalcasid.”

Kris got back to some of the unfavorable comments against her brother.

“You know me, lahat ng atake I trained myself to ignore, but when my brother’s life is threatened, a line is crossed that I will stand up to defend," she addressed a basher.

The presidential sister also reminded netizens that her father, Senator Ninoy Aquino, was assassinated in 1983. She also reported to authorities what she described as an "expression of death threat" hurled against her brother in the photo-sharing site.

“You seem to forget, my dad was assassinated, so I will never take a death threat, even just an expression.”

Aquino’s latest post on Instagram is a quote which reads: “Take a moment to walk in my shoes, I bet you’ll fall on the first step.”
