Mutant Pig born with human-like face in China
A piglet was born with a human-like face and a penis on its forehead. The farmer said he was stunned by the piglet's appearance and has been swamped by offers from collectors to buy the unique animal off him.
There are reports the newborn pig may have suffered from cyclopia, an extremely rare birth defect which results in just one eye where the nose should be.
One of the last to be born in a litter of 19, the little piglet was described by witnesses as having a human face and a penis on its forehead.
Farmer Tao Lu said he couldn’t believe his eyes when the strange-looking piglet was born on his property in Yanan township in Nanning city in southern China.
After pictures of the mutant animal appeared in local media, he began to receive offers of large sums of money in exchange for the pig.
"All the others were normal, just this one was really bizarre." Tao Lu said.
"It was a large litter, and the mutant was one of the last of 19 piglets to be born.” He added.
Although the piglet was born alive and squealing, it was rejected by its mother and it refuse to feed from a bottle and so it died shortly afterwards.
"It is a shame it died," Tao continued.
"I could have got more money for it then for the rest of the family put together based on what people were offering me on the phone."
He said they had wanted to put the strange creature on display to attract visitors.
Local resident Wu Kung saw the pig in the flesh.
"I was one of a dozen people, who went there to see the piglet, and it really did have a human face and exactly like he said, a willie growing out of its forehead." Local Wu Kung
