One of the studies conducted by Monica Burmerland, an anesthesiologist, on a house plant shows that their leaves reacts when you are touching them. This is their defense mechanism when there is an insect that going to feast on their green leaves.

Mimosa, a house plant where the leaves react when being touched.

The anesthesiologist treated the plant with Ether, an early knock-out drug used in humans. This is to halt the mimosa signature leaf movement. After an hour, they check the result. She tries to touch the leaves of the mimosa but it doesn't flicker. Why does the ether works on plants? They said that plants doesn't have any never cells like humans to transmit signals.

To prove the hypothesis, scientist from Germany conducts a trial on plant by burining their leaves. Here they place an electrical nodes on the stem of the plant and place it on the computer terminal. The computer will monitor any electrical movement from the leaves to the stems and finally to the roots.

The professor tries to burn a leaf. They were surprised with the results. The plant did sends a small electrical impulse to notify that there is a burning leaf. This demonstrate that plant can absorb feelings.
