Woman found unpleasant surprise inside a tuna can!
A woman in U.K found something unpleasant after opening a can of tuna and the mystery creature that she discovered has been identified.
Zoe Butler, 28 year-old, immediately spotted a strange sea creature inside the tuna can that was completely “out of the place”.
"I opened the top of the lid and saw a purply thing, a gut sack or intestine — then I turned it round and pushed it with a fork and saw it looking back at me." said Butler. “It’s got like a spiny tail along the bottom – it’s quite grim.”
That creature was called Megalopa, described as an “immature crab” that is often eaten by tuna.
Some expert say’s that the creature was later known was likely a tongue-eating parasite.
Scientist say’s that this parasite sometimes often enters and goes to the fish and attached to the fished tongue.
“I dropped the fork, jumped back, screamed a bit and shouted for my nan to come and have a look,” Butler added.
"We appreciate that the appearance of the crab will have been unpleasant. However please be assured that it represented no food safety risk” said the spokesperson of Princes
“We were contacted by Mrs. Butler and immediately responded to apologize. We are arranging for her to send us the product so that we can look into this matter fully,” added the spokesperson of Butler
The company reportedly launched an investigation to determine the species after pictures of it surfaced.
