'Hagupit' is expected to become a typhoon before reaching Philippines
Tropical storm "Hagupit" will intensify into a typhoon before entering the Philippine Are of Responsibility (PAR) this Thursday, according to PAGASA.

It is still too early to determine where Hagupit, with local name Ruby once it enters PAR, will hit the Philippine landmass, said PAGASA weather forecaster Rene Paciente.
As of 2 p.m., was estimated at 2,325 km east of Mindanao, with maximum winds of 75 kph and gustiness of 90 kph.
Hagupit will cross the Philippines, carrying a wind strength of 150 to 175 kph before making a landfall between Visayas and Bicol area.
Raymund Liboro, Department of Science and Technology's Assistant Secretary for Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction, said citizens and local government units must prepare for the possibility of Hagupit hitting land.
