Watch: Official Trailer for Adorable 'Minions' Spin-Off Movie

The first full-length trailer of the upcoming comedy film Minions was finally released by Illumination Entertainment for Universal Pictures.  This is a spin off to Despicable Me and Despicable Me 2.

The new adventure film tells the story of the Minions at the dawn of time, when they're single-celled yellow organisms and evolving through the ages. Trailer  takes us all the way up to the 1960s in London and New York (42 years before Gru).  Minions have only one purpose, which is to serve the most despicable master they can find - from T. rex to Dracula. But over the years they've inadvertently ended up killing them.

So they decide to isolate themselves from the world and start a new life in Antarctica however, the lack of a master drove them into worthlessness and depression.  They must now face their biggest challenge: to save all of Minionkind from annihilation.

Bravest minion Kevin joined by Stuart and Bob embark on a journney to find the biggest, baddest villain for his tribe to serve. Their target becomes, Scarlett Overkill (voiced by Academy Award® winner Sandra Bullock) a stylish and ambitious villain determined to dominate the world and become the first female super-villain.

The trailer tells the basic story (minus the Minions’ meeting with Scarlett).  Jon Hamm, Katy Mixon and Jennifer Saunders likewise lend their voices to the film but aren’t revealed in this trailer.

The film which will be released on June 26, 2015 is directed by Pierre Coffin of Despicable Me 1 and 2 and Kyle Balda of The Lorax. Brian Lynch wrote the screenplay for the 3D-CG comedy adventure, and Chris Renaud serves as executive producer of the film.
