Snake trying to eat its own tail, becoming an ouroboros

An extraordinary video has been circulating all over the social media about a snake trying to eat its own tail after mistaking it for lunch!

A female Albino Western Hognose is seen biting down on her body. The video was caught on a pet shop in which the snake was on sale for $700.

The Ouroboros is an ancient symbol depicting a serpent or dragon eating its own tail.

It is unclear if the snake’s tail reaches her stomach and still her fate is unknown.

Sometimes snakes will go full-on Ouroboros and begin to eat their own tails, creating a circle.

Some experts believe that if a snake does eat itself it could be confused due to illness and therefore be unaware of what it is doing.

Robert Mott, the videographer, was inside a pet shop when he came upon this snake and claimed in the description on YouTube that the owner was not immediately available.

The snake begins to draw blood on itself midway during the video, and unfortunately it is not known what the outcome of this incident was.
