Flesh-eating bacteria ate this man to his death!
Cason Yeager, 26, died on June 16 two days after going for a swim in Florida sea |
A mother, Karen Yeagar shares the unfortunate news that happened to his 26-year old son Cason Yeagar who passed away after he was contracted by a flesh-eating bacteria.
Cason and his friends decided to take a day off and have some fun. They went to a beach in Pine Island beach in Hernando County. But there has been no warning to swimmers about the deadly bacteria.
While swimming on a waist-deep water, Cason got the Vibro Vunificus a kind of bacteria that lives in a warm salt water. It gets on the body when there is a wound exposed to the water.

‘This has been a nightmare for me. Let me tell you, and nobody should have to go through this,’ Ms Yeager told the WTSP in Tampa.
Mr Yeager died on June 16, two days after he went swimming but Ms Yeager said his doctor at The Villages Regional Hospital didn't sign the death certificate until June 23.
'He coded out again and then they worked on him for about 45 minutes and they could not bring him back,' added Ms Yeager.
She now wants a warning put out to everyone that you do not have to be sick to pick up the bacteria, and it can kill healthy people too.
After being infected with this bacteria, Cason was immediately brought to the hospital for treatment but it was too late. 2 days passed and Cason died.
On June 16, Cason died at the Villages Regional Hospital. But the Lake County Medical Examiner says that the young man's cause of death occurred naturally.
But what saddens Karen more is the negligence of the officials to say that there is a bacteria that lives in that river. She want the Health Department to warn other people from staying at the beach because it could harm them, even to death.
But Cason is not the only victim of that bacteria in Florida. There had been a total number of 10 people who have died because of the same bacteria and 31 were infected.
Pine Island swimmers were shocked to hear that the health authorities have not yet warned people about the bacteria.
‘I think it’s sad and I think it’s very irresponsible,’ said Harold Young, a Pine Island Swimmer.
‘It should happen immediately they should tell the people what’s going on. They have the right to know,’ added Pine Island swimmer Janice Cobb.
Cason Yeager had been diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder 10 years ago but his mother said that he had fully recovered and was a healthy 26-year-old.
