Did you know that mobile bar signs varies in different phone? To check the signal of an iPhone try dialing *3001#12345#* then press call. You can see a hidden feature for iOS to test your phone signal.
On the upper left side of the screen near the provider’s name shows the real signal of your phone. For Android users, it is more easy. Just go to settings then about phone. On the about phone screen, press and hold the signal stregth option. A great signal is about -70 decibel milliwatts (dbm) however it is under -100 dbm is a dead zone. When you are in a field test mode, try walking around your house or office. Then map all the part of your house that has a strongest signal. This is good to know what place to make a call.
To check what cell tower you are connected, download the Open Signal app from Apple App Store or from Google Play Store. This is a free app. On the app, tap on the tower icon to see the list of towers that are located to your place. Then the app will help you pinpoint on what cell tower is your phone is connected.
To change your tower, try rebooting your signal. This is by activating the airplane mode on your phone for three seconds then deactivate it again If you don’t have the airplane mode try using the Open Signal to refresh your signal.
Always charge your battery because low battery means that the cellphone signals is getting low as well. If your messages are delayed just charge your phone.
