”Crocodiles have incredibly strong tails,” Frost wrote on his Instagram account.
According to the government if Australia’s Northern Territory, a crocodile’s tail is a solid muscle and “a major source of power”. Where crocodiles are a serious and common danger.
So how do they do it?
After locking in on its prey using impressive binocular vision, the crocodile will flick its powerful tail in a wavelike motion to push its body upwards and out of the water. It does this from a stationary position and can get airborne in just a few seconds.
Its tail makes it a strong swimmer and capable of sudden lunges out of the water to capture prey. If that wasn't scary enough, these strong muscles also mean that for shorts bursts of time crocodiles can move faster on land than humans can.
"Their tails propel them in the water like torpedoes from a submarine," Trevor wrote in his Instagram post. "In fact…their tails are so strong that they can propel their entire body out of the water."
Trevor’s projects can be seen on National Geographic’s website.
