The Philippines congress is seeking a free and accessible Internet. How much it cost?
There are two different house bills that are being reviewed by the congress and senate that deals with free internet access thru WiFi. How much it will cost to implement?
House bill 4741 which was sponsored by AGRI Party-list Rep. Delphine Gan Lee seeks to empower local government units (LGUs) to implement a Municipal Wi-Fi Program. They are seeking Php 500M to implement. The total cost will be split up equally between the National Computer Centre and local government units.
This will enable a high-speed wireless Internet access on ailing areas. This also includes low-cost broadband Internet access in resort. This can help increate the tourism and to make an area more attractive.
A same bill was also filed in by Senator Ralph Recto. This will enable Internet access on public buildings, parks, and national roads in Metro Manila
