Groom tried to drown himself after meeting his bride in an arranged wedding in China

After seeing his bride for the first time, a Chinese groom tried to drown himself which resulted in cancelling the wedding ceremony.

Kung Hu, a 33 years old Chinese groom in Hubei, China tried to drown himself after seeing his bride, which is according to him "too ugly". He ditched the wedding ceremony probably out of disgust after witnessing what his bride looks like for the first time.

I feel bad about what happened, but when I saw her she wasn't what I had expected and I realized she would be bad for my image,

Kang said after being saved from a river.

Before their supposed wedding in Shiyan, in central China's Hubei province, Kang apologized to Na Sung, the 30 years old bride who he was supposed to marry.

Guests were shocked and according to Kang's friend, Chan Wang, that moment was very awkward for everyone.

The bride was devastated, her family were furious, his family were furious, and we his friends were embarrassed. Kang has very exact tastes and had been forced into this marriage,

Sources said that Kang wasn't able to see his bride because it was an arranged marriage and he was forced into it.

Kang was seen lying face down in a river a few hours after the wedding ceremony cancelled. He attempted suicide by jumping into the river. Bystanders urgently called the police when they saw Kang floating in the water.

He was fully clothed and floating face down in the water. He was unconscious and I thought he was dead.

My parents had arranged this and I couldn’t see any way out apart from suicide,

The groom said after he was brought to the hospital. The doctors said that he is now in a stable condition.
